Srinagar: A man from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district involved in anti-national activities was detained and lodged in Central Jail, Srinagar, after being booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA), police said on Tuesday.

Bashir Ahmad Beigh of Shirpora Chandoosa Baramulla was named in several first information reports (FIRs) related to disturbance of law and order and subversion, a police statement said.

“Despite his involvement in many FIRs he did not mend his anti-national and social activities,” police said.

“Baramulla Police booked Bashir under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention order from the competent Authority,” the statement said.
