The ouster of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, while she is enjoying activities like a shopping spree in Ghaziabad, India, has taken the form of a disaster for the Hindu citizens of Bangladesh. While the atrocities faced by Hindus in the neighbouring country of India have come to the fore through social media, many, like always, belonging in the ‘left-liberal’ side of the political spectrum, are engaged in white-washing the crimes of the Muslims against their Hindu countrymen in Bangladesh, and many, in what is nothing but diabolical, are busy falsifying the crimes altogether!

In order to fathom the degree of cold-blooded crimes happening against Hindus in Bangladesh, solely because of their religious beliefs, which make them ‘Kafirs’ in the land of Islam, Sonakshi Datta of GoaChronicle spoke with Hindu victims in Bangladesh. For safety concerns, even though the victims are calling out to the world for help, especially to their fellow Hindus in India, the names of the victims and their family members who have been affected have not been revealed in the report.

The blood of Hindus has been shed mercilessly all across the country of Bangladesh, and one such heinous crime took place in the Bagerhat district of the Khulna Division; while a Hindu school teacher was beaten and stabbed till death by Muslims, his wife and daughter have also been beaten severely, and are now admitted in the Bagerhat District Hospital. Multiple other instances of crimes against Hindus took place in Bagerhat alone.

Apart from the lives of Hindus in Bangladesh, what became the target of the religious hatred of the Muslims were Hindu Mandirs all across the country. In Meherpur, the ISKCON Mandir was attacked, vandalized, ransacked, looted, and lastly, was set on fire.

A similar reality of hatred against Hindus in Bangladesh was also reported from the Narail district, wherein Hindus’ homes were attacked, vandalized, ransacked, and looted. And Hindu women were assaulted by the Muslim perpetrators. In a village called Rundia in Narail itself, a Hindu house met the same fate, and the family was threatened by the Muslims that their daughter would be kidnapped, and 50,000 Bangladeshi taka was taken in ransom.

While the Khulna District Corporation President’s house was also vandalized and looted because he was a Hindu, similar horrific cases of Muslims destroying the homes of the Hindu victims, took place in different areas of the country like the Purva Khejuria village; Kailashganj; Chaklapara; Kamarkhola; and the Tilbhanga division. In the Satkhira district as well, Hindu homes and shops were attacked and vandalized by Muslims, looted, and then set ablaze.

Similarly, in Kotchandpur as well, Hindus’ shops were vandalized and looted, and Muslims threatened and asked for ransom amounts from the victims.

A Hindu house lies in ruins

Speaking on the atrocities unleashed by the Muslims in Bangladesh against the Hindus, the brother of an Awami League Editor, whose house in the Hotel Bazar area of Meherpur, whose home was set on fire solely because he is a Hindu, said, ‘A mob of Muslim youth attacked the house, yielding rods, sticks, and iron pipes. First, the home’s entry door was broken, after which they started looting the home, after which, they piled up all the things in the home together, and burned them.’

The ground floor of the two-storey house of the Hindu editor has burned completely. And at around the same time, Hindus’ shops in the Bara Bazar area were attacked and all their assets were looted by the Muslims.

In another incident from the Hotel Bazar area, on the Rabindranath Road, a Hindu house was attacked and looted, and all the four people in the house were brutally beaten. One of the Hindu victims said, ’10-12 Muslim men barged into our home after breaking the main door, after which they went up to the first floor, beat us in cold blood, opened the almirah, and looted all the gold jewellery and other expensive assets which we had.’

In Shariatpur, Dhaka, a Hindu Mandir, which had been constructed just one year earlier, after a lot of struggles by the Hindus, to take back land encroached upon by Muslims, now lies in shatters, after it was attacked amidst the fire of religious-hatred, engulfing Bangladesh. In the Boro Kali Bari area of Tangail as well, attempts were made by Muslims to attack Hindu homes.

In Dhamrai, a large mob of Muslims attacked and entered forcefully, the house of a Hindu woman, after breaking the entry door, broke the house’s windows as well, and shattered her car windows too. They also vandalized the Durga Mandir nearby, and stole even chairs lying in the Mandir premises.

A Hindu Mandir desecrated by Muslims

In Chandpur too, amongst the multiple Hindu houses which were attacked, looted, and set on fire, were the houses of a professor of the Puran Bazar Degree College, in Adalatpara, and the houses of the professors of the Adarsh Degree College. Similar cases of Hindu homes which were attacked, vandalized, looted, and set on fire, have taken place in Kishoreganj, Munshiganj, Sylhet, Faridpur, Narsingdi, and Jessore.

While in Manirampur, the house of a female Hindu student was attacked and looted of money, her younger brother aged only 15 was beaten mercilessly by the Muslim attackers; on the other hand, in Narikelbaria village, Hindu shops and houses were attacked and looted, and one particular home was looted of a large amount of gold, and cash was stolen as well. From another home, a ransom of 1 lakh was looted.

In Bagherpara, Hindu homes were vandalized and looted after 10-12 Muslims attacked a Hindu neighbourhood with weapons, entered Hindu homes forcefully, and looted ransom money. In one instance, an old person was brutally beaten for not being able to pay the ransom amount demanded by the Muslim attackers. The Muslims still did not leave the elderly’s house and stole 3 cows and 2 goats on their way out.

In other similar cases, in the Secundarapur village too, masked Muslim men attacked Hindu houses, and vandalized and looted them. In Dhalagram village as well, Hindu homes were attacked, and even 2 cows were stolen from one house. In the Andarkot village, 1 Hindu house was attacked 4 times, and 4 cows, 25 ducks, 15 hens, 1 electric motor, and even 2 bags of rice, and 40 duck eggs were stolen by the Muslim attackers. Even after this, the Muslims asked the Hindus in the house to pay a ransom amount of 1 Lakh, after which they doused the house with petrol and set it on fire. The Hindu victims had to pay a ransom of 50, 000 to save their lives. In other villages too, similar horrific incidents unfolded.

A cow killed in religious hatred

In the Abhaynagar sub-district, Hindu houses were attacked in a similar fashion, and money and jewellery were looted. One of the victims said, ‘The Muslim attackers used axes to break the entry door to my house, cut the grills, and entered into my home, vandalized it, and stole 4 lakh takas and a hefty amount of gold.’

Similar crimes of Hindu homes and shops having been attacked, vandalized, and looted, also took place across the Manirampur sub-district, in the Kaliganj sub-district, and in Noakhali.

In Rangpur, a Hindu man and his nephew were lynched amidst the calls of ‘Allahu Akbar’, Hindu homes were similarly vandalized and looted, and Hindu Mandirs were burnt down.

A Hindu victim from Dinajpur, where too, Hindu homes and shops were vandalized and looted by Muslim perpetrators, said, ‘In the market area, Hindu shops were selectively attacked and destroyed. The Muslims had sticks and sharp weapons in their hands, and I had to escape out of my own shop. Later, they looted things from my shop, right in front of my own eyes, and I could do nothing. Then, all of us Hindus defended our neighbourhood.’

In one of the villages in Dinajpur, while was also attempted by the Muslims to attack and break a Hindu Mandir, but it was defended by the Hindus. But unfortunately, there were cases where a Durga Mata Mandir and a Kali Mata Mandir, among others were vandalized.

In Chottogram, the Loknath Mandir was attacked by the Muslims, and apart from attacking and setting Hindu homes on fire, the Muslims have also threatened the Hindu victims, that their women-folk will be abused and tortured. In the Sonadia Island too, Hindu homes were attacked, and Hindu women were beaten brutally.

In similarly evil crimes that took place in Tamruddi Bazar, the Hindu neighbourhood was attacked, and Hindu shops and homes were vandalized, looted, and set on fire. One of the victim’s elderly mother was beaten mercilessly, and money was looted from households, and disgustingly, even animal shelters were not spared and were set ablaze by the Muslims.

Hindu women in distress after their house is attacked, ransacked, and looted

While in Feni, a Durga Mata Mandir was attacked, in Laxmipur, 200-300 Muslim goons set on fire, a two-storey house. In Mymensingh, while Hindu houses were attacked, vandalized, and looted, the Ram Krishna Mission and ISKCON Mandirs were also attacked and destroyed.

In Madhavpur as well, Hindu homes were attacked and looted, and a Hindu was attacked with a sharp weapon; and out of the Hindu houses and Mandirs attacked, destroyed, and looted in Rajshahi, in one case, one gate of a Hindu house was broken by the Muslim attackers, but the other could not be, so the goons broke a window, and attacked the Hindu family living there.

In another one, the house’s entry gate was broken to barge in, and the Hindu victims were looted of more than 1 Lakh takas, gold jewellery, and even a laptop, a bag of rice, and a mobile phone. A Mandir was also attacked and its CCTV camera was broken so that nothing could get recorded.

In Barisal too, the Radha Madhav Mandir was attacked and vandalized; Hindu women were sexually abused, and Hindu houses were attacked, looted, and set on fire. And in a heart-wrenching case, a poor betel nut seller’s betelnuts were all burnt down by the Muslims, and later on, the seller’s elderly father could be seen looking for betelnuts in the ashes.

It is noteworthy that all the cases mentioned in this report are nothing but just a mere glimpse to what all the Hindus in Bangladesh have faced in the past few days, and continue to grapple with.

A Hindu neighbourhood being attacked by a Muslim mob

And the most abominable phenomenon which is taking place while Hindus in Bangladesh continue to suffer at the hands of their Muslim perpetrators, is that the ‘liberal’ lobby is conveniently silent, and while everybody had their ‘eyes on Rafah’, nobody cares to bat an eyelid for the Hindus right across the border, because ‘minority lives matter’, but only when this so-called minority is the Muslims, trapped in a fictitious evil of ‘Hindu fascism’.
