Kolhapur: Union Home Minister and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Amit Shah appealed to BJP office bearers and workers to get ready to win 50 assembly seats out of 58 in western Maharashtra while working with alliance partners, a party leader said on Thursday.

Addressing a rally of senior leaders from western Maharashtra, including Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, and Solapur, late on Wednesday night at Mahasainik Darbar Hall in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Shah said, “It is possible to get power by assuming three election partners’ poll symbols to be one.”

Shah also asked workers not to do anything that will damage Mahayuti and to work hard in the next one month for the bringing back the alliance to power.

Assembly elections to pick 288 new legislators in Maharashtra are likely to be held in November.

The Home Minister said in recently concluded Lok Sabha elections our leader Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for the third time.

Those who contested the election only for prime minister and minister posts, became disappointed after failure, but our party contested the election for the development of the country, he said.

He said that the state government is implementing various welfare schemes, including ‘Ladki Bahin’, and workers should take these schemes to people.

Union environment minister Bhupendra Yadav, firmer minister Ravsaheb Danve, minister Murlidhar Mohil, Chandrakant Patil Suresh Khade, and others were present for the rally.

On this occasion, independent MLA from Ichalkaranji assembly constituency of this district Prakash Awade and his son Rahul joined the BJP in the presence of Shah.
