New Delhi: Taking a dig at the opposition minutes before the Budget session of parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said there has been no attempt of foreign interference for the first time in ten years ahead of the session.

“Since 2014, this is the first parliamentary session that has not experienced any external interference. Over the years, I have observed that there has been no shortage of individuals willing to stir up trouble and escalate issues,” the prime minister said in his customary address to the media before the beginning of the Budget session.

Speaking about the priority of the new session, the Prime Minister said the upcoming Budget will give new energy to fulfilling the vision of developed India by 2047.

“I can say with confidence this Budget session will infuse new confidence and energy in attaining our goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’,” PM Modi said.

He added: “The people of the country have given me responsibility for the third time. This is the complete budget of my third term. I am confident that this budget will give new energy, assuring that the country will be developed by 2047 and 140 crore people will fulfil this vision with their resolve”.

He said in its third term, the NDA government was moving forward with the resolve of all-round development of the country in a “mission mode.”

Modi said “historic bills” will be tabled during the Budget session.

The government has listed 16 bills, besides the financial business, for this session.

“During this session, as in the past, many significant bills will be discussed in the House. After thorough deliberation, these bills will be enacted into law to strengthen the nation” he said.

Talking about his government’s commitment to ‘Viksit Bharat’, Modi said the focus is on “Innovation, Inclusion, Investment”.

The two-phase Budget session, which begins during the day, will end on April 4. The first part of the session will end on February 13 and the second phase will begin on March 10.
