Jammu Zone IGP reviews Op preparedness of SOG in 3 districts

Jammu: Newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti on Tuesday reviewed operational preparedness of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police in three border districts of the region.

Flanked by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, the IGP inspected operational preparedness of SOG in Kathua, Samba and Jammu District, officials said.

He also reviewed late night alertness of the personnel related to the border management grid of Kathua, Samba and Jammu, joint check points of BSF and Border Police, infiltration routes in these belts were also thoroughly checked, they said.

They further added that the IGP reviewed the security scenario of the national highways, readiness of quick response teams and also the police alertness on the Ring Road.

Notably, in the recent past, few crimes related incidents were reported on the Ring Road that connects Samba district with Jammu and other parts along the highways.

The IGP, they said, also reviewed the security and coordination meeting with Army, CRPF, SOG and other nodal agencies.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Shobit Saxena, SP Operations Jammu, Kameshwar Puri and SSP Special Operations and Training, Vikrant Prashar, also accompanied the officers.
