Woman Director scrips history excelling in 32 departments of filmmaking

Chennai: In a rare achievement, young woman film director S.Lavanya, an actress and singer, has made history by excelling in 32 departments of filmmaking with her film ‘Pei Kottu’ in her debut venture.

This was for the first time a young actress has played a role in handling almost all aspects of the film, that too in her first film as director, according to a press release.

Lavanya has played the lead role in the film, the official release date of which was announced today.

The horror-thriller is produced by Lavanya under the banner of Om Sai Productions.

Lavanya has personally learned and handled all the technical aspects of the film, marking a new achievement for this female filmmaker.

The teaser and trailer of this film have already been released and received a tremendous response. The film is set to release worldwide in theaters on March 21.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that this film has won over ten international awards. Additionally, a woman has learned and mastered all aspects of filmmaking and has gone on to create this film, which is a remarkable achievement.

Director Lavanya holds an MA in Hindustani Music, which she studied in Punjab. She aspired to become a playback singer in the cinema industry.

However, she went on to learn and master all aspects of filmmaking, achieving excellence in 32 departments, which is a remarkable accomplishment.

For the first time in world history, a single person has covered 32 crafts of filmmaking—24 crafts of filmmaking plus 8 additional crafts—in the movie Pei Kottu.

These crafts include producing, directing, story, screenplay, dialogue, music, dubbing, editing, singing, acting, fight choreography, dance, cinematography, lyrics, color grading, EFX, VFX, SFX, casting direction, costume design, art direction, makeup, location scouting, subtitling, foley, censor script preparation, 5.1 mixing, sound engineering, obtaining NOC from AWBI (Animal Welfare Board of India), censor certification from CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), and movie distribution.
