Mumbai: Directing to prepare a detailed project to strengthen various health institutions ranging from health sub-centres to referral service hospitals in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday ordered to implement this project as a ‘mission’ in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Speaking at a meeting organised here to review the projects of the Medical Education and Public Health Department in collaboration with ADB, he asked the Medical Education and Public Health Department to prepare a detailed project report to strengthen health institutions.

Innovative measures should be adopted to provide quality health services to citizens, he suggested.

The Chief Minister also gave instructions to build separate hospitals in places with high population and patient load.

He said the need for a separate hospital of the Medical Education Department should be verified in the district where the government medical college has been started.

A detailed planning plan should be prepared by classifying the hospitals required for medical education and public health departments, and the places where new hospitals need to be built, added Fadnavis
