Thiruvananthapuram: Farmers in Kerala are eligible for subsidy assistance of up to 85 per cent for installing micro-irrigation facilities, including drip and sprinkler systems, under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana–Per drop More Crop (RKVY–PDMC) scheme.

The scheme, jointly implemented by the Centre and State, aims to promote modern irrigation methods to enhance crop productivity and ensure water-use efficiency.

Farmers owning cultivable land can avail 55 per cent subsidy on installation costs, while an additional 30 per cent support is provided through the State’s Kerala Samrudhi Scheme.
Financial assistance is also extended for developing water sources and meeting pumping requirements. Applications can be submitted through Krishi Bhavans and Assistant Executive Engineer (Agriculture) offices in districts.

Applicants are required to furnish copies of Aadhaar card, bank passbook, latest land tax receipt, and caste certificate in the case of SC/ST farmers.
