ECI extends SIR by a month in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday extended the period for filing claims and objections in connection with the Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of electoral rolls, currently being carried out in Uttar Pradesh, by thirty days.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa on Friday said claims and objections can now be filed until March 6.

Earlier the last date for filing claims and objections was today, this has been extended after a review, said officials. All details of the voter list will be completed by March 27, they said and the final voter list will be published on April 10, 2026.
