Ajmer: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a blistering attack on the Congress, accusing it of attempting to defame India before the international community and claiming the party has been reduced to what he termed the “Muslim League Maoist Congress (MMC)” amid a string of electoral defeats.
Addressing a public gathering, PM Modi said the Congress has been “exhausted by continuous defeats and drowned in frustration and despair” and has indulged in actions that insult the nation on the global stage.
“But what has the Congress, exhausted by continuous defeats and drowned in frustration and despair, done? You have seen it yourselves. In front of guests from across the world, the Congress tried to defame the country. They staged a complete drama to insult the nation before foreign guests. The Congress is continuously losing across the country, and it is taking revenge for that by defaming India,” he said.
The Prime Minister further remarked, “Once, the Congress was INC, the Indian National Congress. But that no longer exists. Today, instead of INC, it has become MMC, meaning ‘Muslim League Maoist Congress.’”
Modi alleged that the Congress chose to “amplify the lies of our enemies” during military operations led by India’s defence forces.
“Over the past 11 years, India’s armed forces have delivered strong blows against terrorists and enemies of the nation on every front. Our armed forces have emerged victorious in every mission and on every front. From surgical strikes to Operation Sindoor, they have proven their valour,” he said.
“Whatever is auspicious for the country, whatever is good, whatever works for the welfare of the people, the Congress opposes all of it. That is why the country today is teaching the Congress a lesson.”
He said that in Rajasthan, people have experienced the misgovernance of the Congress from close quarters. “For as long as the Congress government remained here, it stayed entangled in corruption and internal infighting. The Congress also betrayed our farmers,” PM Modi said as he launched nationwide campaign aimed at preventing cervical cancer.
Describing it as a transformative step for women’s empowerment, he said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to holistic and inclusive development.
“Our government is committed to holistic development. From Ajmer today, we had the privilege of launching the nationwide HPV vaccination campaign, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for several projects, and distributing appointment letters to the youth,” he said.
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 43 major development projects spanning urban development, drinking water supply, roads, railways, irrigation, energy, and industrial infrastructure.
Of the total Rs16,686 crore outlay, 34 projects worth around Rs 8,554 crore pertain to various Rajasthan government departments, including Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, Public Works, Energy, Water Resources, and Industries.
Nine major projects related to national highways and energy, worth about Rs 8,132 crore, were also launched. Foundation stones were laid for two projects, while seven were inaugurated.
