Ceremonial parades and flag-hoisting Illuminate 75th R-Day celebrations in Telangana

Hyderabad: Vibrant ceremonial parades, the unfurling of the national flag, spirited drills, and captivating cultural programmes adorned the 75th Republic Day festivities throughout Telangana on Friday.

At the main event in the state capital, Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the Public Garden, Nampally.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, members of the Council of Ministers, public representatives, senior officials from both the central and state governments, as well as distinguished individuals from various sectors who witnessed the Republic Day programme,

Before the ceremony, the Chief Minister paid homage to the nearby martyrs’ memorial.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Dr. Soundararajan emphasised the significance of the Indian Constitution in unifying the diverse races, religions, and communities, stating that the country has progressed successfully under its guidance for the past 74 years.

The Governor highlighted the Constitution’s role in the formation of Telangana and its provisions to empower the people to hold governments accountable. She praised the state’s recent elections for putting an end to a 10-year government that, she claimed, went against constitutional principles.

She expressed the government’s commitment to implementing four key guarantees within 100 days, aiming to bring smiles to the faces of the people.

Dr. Soundararajan acknowledged the precarious financial situation inherited by the current government and emphasised its determination to compete globally and usher in a new era of welfare and development.

The Governor praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s team for securing significant investments during a recent global tour and expressed confidence in the government’s efforts leading to industrial growth and job creation.

Dr. Soundararajan assured farmers that the government is committed to their well-being, highlighting initiatives such as 24-hour free power supply and the implementation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

She emphasised the government’s accessibility through programmes like Prajavani, where ministers hear public grievances every Tuesday and Friday. The Governor concluded by expressing pride in Telangana’s adherence to democratic principles and commitment to the welfare of all communities.
