First BIMSTEC Youth Summit held in Gandhinagar

New Delhi: The First BIMSTEC Youth Summit was held in Gandhinagar that saw young leaders from countries in the Bay of Bengal littoral region discuss challenges and opportunities in several areas including entrepreneurship and digital connectivity.

The three-day summit was inaugurated by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandviya and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Secretary East Jaideep Mazumder.

The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:

“The 1st BIMSTEC Youth Summit themed ‘Youth as a bridge for intra-BIMSTEC exchange’ was inaugurated by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports @mansukhmandviya, CM Gujarat @Bhupendrapbjp, MoS @khadseraksha & Secretary (East) @JaideepMazumder in Gandhinagar.

“The 3-day congregation of young leaders of BIMSTEC discussed challenges and opportunities for the region in several areas including entrepreneurship, technologies, digital connectivity, sustainable development & most importantly forging ties transcending boundaries.

“This initiative reaffirms India’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation in line with ‘Neighborhood First’ policy, ‘Act East’ policy & SAGAR vision.”

CM Bhupendra Patel highlighted the role of today’s youth in promoting youth leadership. He emphasized by working together, BIMSTEC nations can harness youth potential and drive inclusive growth for a brighter future.
