Jammu: A brief contact was established between security forces and terrorists on Thursday in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that acting on specific inputs about the movement of terrorists, a joint team of police and Army early morning launched a massive search operation in Latti area of Dudu in Udhampur.

“The terrorists fired upon the search party and it was retaliated,” they said adding that there was a brief exchange of firing.

“One jawan reportedly injured in the firing and he has been shifted to the hospital in Udhampur,” they said. “The firing has stopped but the operation is in progress,” said a source.
