Hyderabad: With water level in river Godavari steadily rising and the inflows crossed 9 lakh cusecs, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday instructed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to alert the Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all the districts in the Godavari catchment area, including Kothagudem and Mulugu.

The flood in Godavari is rising in the wake of heavy rains in the upper catchment areas.

KCR also instructed Somesh Kumar to set up a control room in the Secretariat immediately and monitor the situation from time to time.
