IED detected and defused in Sopore

Srinagar: Security forces detected and defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sopore sub-district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.

The explosives was detected by forces in Tulibal area of Sopore this morning during a routine sanitization of the Sopore Kupwara bypass road.

The traffic and the movement of people was immediately halted after the IED was detected, they said. The area was also cordoned by the forces.

Soon a bomb disposal squad was called and they defused the IED, a security official said.
