IMD issues Red alert for Raigad and other districts of Maharashtra

Mumbai: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Raigad and a few other districts of Maharashtra, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

The IMD also issued a warning for West-Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and Konkan sides, including Ratnagiri district, of a red alert for rain on Wednesday.

An orange alert has been issued for Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Thane, Palghar, and Mumbai.

The weather Department also indicates heavy to very heavy rains in Pune and Satara districts of western Maharashtra, and an orange alert has been issued for Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Nanded districts.

The Yellow alert for rain has been issued in North Maharashtra, along with some districts in Marathwada and Vidarbha. The administration has appealed to citizens to take proper precautions.
