J&K shooter scripts history by making into Asian Shooting C’ship in Korea

Jammu: Ace shooter from Jammu and Kashmir Aneesha Sharma has scripted history by making into the Asian Shooting Championship to be held from October 22 to November 2, 2023 in Changwon, Korea.

As per the communiqué issued here on Wednesday, Aneesha, a trainee of Mission Olympics Shooting Academy Jammu, has created history for J&K by becoming the first to earn her place to represent India in the highly anticipated Asian Shooting Championship.

The shooter with her exceptional shooting skills and unwavering dedication, has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the world of shooting sports and her selection for the Asian Shooting Championship is based on National ranking with an average score of 627.6 from past one year, read the handout.

It stated that the selection list is declared by the National Rifle Association of India.

She will represent India in the 10m air Rifle event in the Youth women category.

The Asian Shooting Championship is a prestigious event that attracts top shooters from across the Asian continent and Aneesha Sharma will compete with some of the finest world class shooters in the region, showcasing her prowess and striving for excellence.

She has been training under the guidance of coaches Vishal Mehra and Aman Singh and they have expressed full confidence that she will represent India with distinction and make the nation proud with her performance.

Aneesha Sharma has not only demonstrated remarkable talent but has also been an inspiration to aspiring shooters in our country.

Her story is a testament to the fact that with determination and hard work, dreams can be turned into reality, the handout stated.

President Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA), S S Sodhi along with Kuldeep Jamwal, Chairman JKRA and Sharat Chander Singh, CEO JKRA have extended best wishes to the shooter for the prestigious event.
