Kathua military Op: 7-year-old girl injured, say officials.

A 7-year-old girl suffered minor injuries in exchange of fire between militants and armed forces in Kathua district on Sunday, officials said.

They said the girl Anchal Kumari, 7, daughter of Nago of Bihar at present W.NO. 11, Hiranagar near Radha Swami Ashram, got a minor injury and was shifted to the nearby hospital.

The exchange of fire ensued after a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation amid specific inputs about presence of militants in Hiranagar.

As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, which was retaliated by the joint team of armed forces.

A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and armed forces.

As per sources, there are intelligence inputs about the presence of three to five militants in the area.
