Kozhikode: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan will inaugurate the fourth edition of the three-day Beypore International Water Fest (BIWF), a popular celebration of water sports and entertainment ahead of the New Year, at Beypore here on December 27.
Addressing a press conference after inaugurating the organising committee office here on Thursday, Tourism and PWD Minister PA Muhammed Riyas has said ” that more tourist have been attracted to Malabar as part of the BIWF. He also said that the fest will also put Kerala on the map of adventure water sports competitions , that will be scheduled to conduct from December 27 to 29″.
He also said BIWF features an array of cultural programmes, mega food festival, international kite fest and others. Surfing, Sailing, Canoeing, International Kite Fest, Paramotoring, Fly Board, Kayaking, Stand Up Padding Race, Dinghy Boat Race, Netting, Fly Board Demonstration, Treasure Hunt, Country Boat are part of the events of the Water Fest. Race, fishing, Navy – Coastguard Ship Visit, Navy Band, Navy Search and Rescue Demonstration and many water and adventure activities will be organised .
M K Raghavan,MP Corporation Mayor Beena Philip and Cine director and artist Basil Joseph will attend as the chief guest of the inaugural function. A live music show led by Vineeth Sreenivasan, cine artist and director will be held on December 27.
Kerala Legislative Speaker AN Shamsee will inaugurate the food fest on Decvember 25, which will be conduct from December 25 to 31. Cultural programme will be staged over three days at Beypore Beach, Chaliyam Beach and Nallur mini stadium, near Feroke from December 27 to 29. The Drone light show will dazzle the sky on December 28 and 29.
A Business to Business (B2B) meet will be organised at Kadav Resort in Kozhikode on December 27 in conjunction with the fest under the auspices of the Department of Tourism to showcase the tourism potential of Malabar to the world. A musical feast and musical band will be performed at the three venues from December 27 to 29. Fisheries and Cultural minister Saji Cheriyan will inaugurate the valedictory function on December 29.
