Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Maharashtra government has renamed Aurangabad district to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and Osmanabad district to Darashiv district.

The state government published the gazette on Friday night and changed the names of both districts.

Henceforth, Osmanabad district will be named Dharashiv, and Aurangabad district will be named Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, stated the Gazette.

During the ongoing hearing in the Bombay High Court, it was said the objections raised by the state government have not been verified. The HC asked how you changed the names when there was no verification.

Therefore, it had been decided to keep the names of Aurangabad as Aurangabad and Osmanabad as Osmanabad district for the time being.

The government said we would think about it after completing this process. After that, a gazette was issued by the government. Accordingly, the names of the entire districts of Osmanabad and Aurangabad were changed.

Earlier, the name of Aurangabad city had been changed to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

However, the names of Aurangabad Division, District, Sub-Division, Taluka, and Village and Osmanabad District, Sub-Division, Taluka, and Village were not changed. It has now been replaced by issuing a gazette.

However, Shinde is going to inaugurate the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District, Division and Taluka naming boards at the Smart City office here during the cabinet meeting.
