Maharashtra govt launches Mukhyamantri Solar Krishi Vahini Yojana for farmers: Fadnavis

Osmanabad: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said the state government has launched the Mukhyamantri Solar Krishi Vahini Yojana so that the farmers
of the state can get electricity for agricultural pumps during the day.

Therefore, the land required for this scheme should be acquired immediately, he said.

Fadnavis who was on tour of the district on Friday to attend various programmes .

He said this plan is very ambitious for the state government and for this purpose, tenders will be issued for generating four to five thousand megawatts of solar energy at the state level soon.

Cooperation Minister Atul Save, MLA Praveen Darekar, MLA Suresh Dhas, MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil, MLA Gyanraj Chougule, MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, MLA Raja Raut, MLA Abhimanyu Pawar, Collector Dr. Sachin Ombase, District Council Chief Executive Officer Rahul Gupta, District Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni were present on the occasion.

Under the Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Vahini scheme, solar projects will be set up on government and private land. This ambitious plan is being implemented to make electricity
available to farmers during the day.

He said at present, as the rainy season has been delayed due to Al Nino storm, maximum works of Jalyukta Shiwar Yojana should be completed during this period. So that protected irrigation facility will be available even if there is less rain, he said.

He also gave instructions to start work immediately in all the villages selected for the scheme, added Fadnavis.
