MoS Margherita to visit Mexico, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda

New Delhi: Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita will be visiting Mexico, Grenada, Barbados and Antigua and Barbuda from September 30 to October 8, underscoring the deepening of relations between India and Latin America and the Caribbean region.

MoS Margherita will pay an official visit to Mexico from Sep 30 to Oct-2, during which he will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of Claudia Sheinbaum as the President of Mexico on Oct 1.

MoS will visit Grenada from Oct 2-4, which will mark the first Ministerial-level visit from India side since May 2018 and the second ever such visit to the country.

During his visit to Barbados from October 4-6, MoS would be visiting places of bilateral interest, a statement said.

In the last leg of his visit, MoS will be in Antigua from Oct 6-8, during which he would hold bilateral meetings.

MoS’ programme during his four nation visit would include meetings with Foreign Ministers; interaction with key political, trade and industry leaders, ITEC alumni members and Indian diaspora; and visit to bilateral project sites.

The visit underscores the deepening of relationship between India and Latin America and the Caribbean. It is expected to bolster political, economic and cultural ties, and pave the way for greater collaboration with our partners in the Global South, the statement added.
