Naypyidaw: Myanmar Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Administration Council Min Aung Hlaing has temporarily received the powers of acting President to resolve matters related to the activities of the national security and defense council, the MWD News broadcaster reported.

“Acting president duties have been handed over … to the chairman of [the] State Administration Council,” the military government said, using the name with which it refers to itself.

According to the report, Myanmar’s acting President, Myint Swe, is receiving medical treatment.

The office of the acting president sent a letter to the State Administration Council saying that Myint Swe cannot perform his duties, and therefore the execution of daily duties is transferred to Min Aung Hlaing, the report said on Monday.
