Earlier, Birla had met with the PM, inviting him to inaugurate the same. “The new Parliament building symbolizes the spirit of self-reliant India”, said the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

The corner stone of the new building was laid by the PM in December, 2020 and the construction had begun in January, 2021. The project, spread over an area of 65, 000 square metres, was initially to be completed by November, 2022. Tata Projects is constructing the new building of the Parliament of India in the national capital.

The project for the triangular new building is worth 1200 crore rupees, and the culture ministry is also providing funds for the artworks for the building.
