Now, Indian-origin Ms Teen USA resigns amid toxic treatment claims

New York: Indian-origin Uma Sofia Srivastava, who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2023, has stepped down from her role following Miss USA Noelia Voigt’s resignation just days back, US media reports said

Srivastava said she made her choice “after months of grappling with this decision”.

She said her “personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization”.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organisation,” Srivastava wrote on Instagram but did not respond to any media queries on Sunday.

This comes amid controversies surrounding the Miss USA Organisation as titleholders have stepped down.

The double resignation during past one week has come as a big blow amid reprted brewing scandals within the pageant body.

This is the first time in Miss USA’s 72-year history since 1952, that reigning queens have relinquished their crowns.
