Padma Shri awardees from Odisha to receive Rs 25k per month for their service: CM Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Padma Shri awardees from Odisha will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000 per month, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Office (CMO) sources said each Padma Awardee in the state, in recognition of their immense contribution to society, will get Rs. 25,000 per month, which will be made effective in April 2024.

Patnaik said the Padma Awards are one of the highest civilian honors of the country and this award is being conferred on the individuals who, through their contributions in various fields, brought glory to the country.

The Chief Minister further said the Padma awardees from the state have enriched the pride of Odisha through their service and extraordinary achievements.

To respect the Padma Awardee and as a recognition of their immense contribution to society, the Chief Minister has decided to provide them with Rs. 25,000 per month, the CMO office said.
