Seafood has always been considered to be a better source of antioxidants than any other kind of food, but now, pollution is increasing in the oceans as well. Plastic is being dumped into rivers to oceans, which is being swallowed by fish and other sea creatures. In the wake of this, turmeric is proving to be a better source of antioxidants than fish.

A report published in Science of the Total Environment on 15th January, 2022, revealed that in every kilogram of fish caught, 74 to 4344 milligrams of micro-plastic get dissolved from the paraphernalia used to catch fish itself, while eating fish with more than 60 milligrams of plastic is hazardous for the ones eating it.

As per research, it has been found that back in 1976, a report from Bio-chem Pharmacology had proved that not only does turmeric hold anti-biotics, but anti-cholesterol, anti-diabetic, and anti-oxidants in large quantities as well. Many people have now stopped having sea fish and processed fish completely, and are turning to using turmeric more in their food items. Many are also taking sun baths by covering their bodies with turmeric, with which both the skin and the mind is refreshed.

Antioxidants are required for the human body in order to stay safe from ailments like Arthritis, heart related issues, and even cancer. Along with this, it improves the quality of our skin.
