Police attaches house of drug smuggler, seized cash in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police on Monday attached a house of drug smugglers and seized cash Rs 69.20 lakh in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said a two storied house value Rs 21.97 lakh and Cash 69.20 lakh belonging to drug Smuggler identified as Ghulam Rasool Sheikh a resident of Nambla Uri and others after completing all legal formalities.

The said house was linked to case FIR No. 81/2023 u/s 8/21, 29 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of Police Station Uri.

The investigation proved that the said immovable/ movable property was raised from Illicit Trafficking by the drug Smugglers, a police statement said.

It is pertinent to mention here that previously Baramulla Police has attached properties worth 68.65 lacs of drug smugglers which includes 2 houses, 3 vehicles & cash to the tune of Rs. 41.72 lacs in Pattan, Kreeri & Kamalkote.

Besides, SAFEM (FOP) A & NDPSA, New Delhi confirmed attachment of property (Illegal acquired property by Drug Smugglers) orders of Baramulla Police at Pattan & Kreeri in which house and vehicle was attached.
