Poonch: Mother, daughter killed as landslide hits house

Jammu: A mother and her daughter were killed when a landslide hit a concrete house on Friday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The deceased woman’s husband managed to escape with injuries in the Bafliaz area incident of Surankote, police said.

The landslide occurred in the morning as huge boulders hit the house of Mohammad Latief and the structure collapsed, the police added.

The house owner sustained injuries but his wife Naseem Akhtar, 40 and daughter Rubina Kouser,12, died on the spot, they said.

The injured was evacuated by the police and army team and shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Rajouri.
