Sensex tanks over 400 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Thursday dropped further by 421 points at 60,485 points, after Fed announced 75 basis points hike in benchmark interest rates.

The Nifty too declined 23 points at 17,959.20.

The stocks like Oil and Gas, Power and Technology kept the market for another day.

The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 60,994 and 60,485.14 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 18,106.30 and 17,959.20 points respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.35 per cent while Small Cap by 0.19 per cent.

In 30 scrips 16 advanced while 14 declined.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 1.84 per cent to Rs 1061.75, TCS by 0.99 per cent to Rs 3210.80, M& M by 0.70 per cent to Rs 1343 and Infosys by 0.66 per cent to Rs 1542.25.

The gainers were Axis Bank by 1.42 per cent to Rs 875.50, Titan by 1.30 per cent to Rs 2758.55 and ITC by 1.03 per cent to Rs 358.05.
