Hyderabad: Stating that there has been a strong resentment among the people towards the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) across the state, Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP., on Saturday called upon the party leaders and cadre to intensify their agitation on the local issues in their respective constituencies to bring the party to power in the next Assembly election scheduled to be held in December next year.

Interacting with the party leaders of Mancherial district at his padayatra camp in Rampur village in Nirmal district, Sanjay said the anti-incumbency wave was palpable in the district, as the local TRS MLAs had miserably failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.

“The people are looking up to the BJP as an alternative political force. Let us take advantage of it, fight on the local issues and create a confidence among the people that their problems would be solved if the BJP comes to power,” he said.

Some BJP leaders complained to the state party Chief that they had been under tremendous pressure from the TRS leaders to join their party and those who resist the pressures were being implicated in false cases.

To this, he assured that the BJP leadership would stand by such party leaders.

Stating that there is no place for the leaders in the party who are afraid of their rivals, the Lok Sabha MP said the strength of the BJP lies on those who go to any extent in fighting. “One has to be prepared to go even to jail. I have gone to jail seven times and facing police cases is not new to me. One has to be among the people always,” he said.

He directed that the party should form booth committees in all polling stations before December 10 and there should not be any laxity. “If you set aside internal differences and strive hard, it is not difficult to win all the three assembly seats in Mancherial district,” the BJP state president said.

Bandi said only winning horses would get the party tickets. “Your style of functioning, your popularity and fighting spirit will be the criterion for giving the party tickets in the next election,” he said.

Later, addressing a huge rally at Dilawarpur mandal headquarters on the sixth day of his padayatra, Sanjay said there had been no change in the living conditions of the people even eight years after the formation of Telangana state.

“None of the promises made by the TRS has been fulfilled completely. Farmers continue to commit suicides and starvation deaths of gold smiths and weavers continue to take place. The cash surplus Telangana plunged into a crisis with Rs 5 lakh crore debts,” he said.

The BJP state president found fault with the TRS leaders for calling upon the people to agitate in view of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has served a notice on KCR’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha in Delhi liquor scam.

“Telangana is not a personal property of KCR family. It was formed due to the sacrifice of over 1400 martyrs. The Chief Minister’s family is looting public money and investing in illegal deals, he alleged, his daughter invested in liquor and casino business, while the people of Telangana are languishing in poverty.”

He reiterated that whatever development Telangana had witnessed, it was only with the funds released by the Centre and assured that if the BJP was voted to power, all the Central schemes would be implemented with more vigour.
