Srinagar: At least two senior officers of the Army and police have been injured during an anti-militancy operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Wednesday.
They said the two were injured during an encounter in Kokarnag, which erupted when joint teams of forces were carrying a cordon and a search operation (CASO) in the area.
” As the cordon was being laid, the terrorists opened fire, leading to injuries to an Army and police officer,’ an official said. The two have been evacuated to a medical facility.
Police said the officers from the Army and J&K police were injured during the encounter.
“Encounter has started in the Kokernag area of Anantnag. Officers from the Army and JKP are injured, ” police said on X (Twitter).
The operation in the area is underway, and additional forces have been rushed to the area.
