On Sunday, June 4, an under-construction bridge in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district collapsed, the visuals of which have been captured in a video, now doing the rounds on social media. No casualties have been reported so far. Three pillars of the under-construction Aguwani-Sultanganj Bridge collapsed, which caused the entire bridge portion to collapse into Maa Ganga.

The video which is going viral on social media shows how the bridge breaks from the middle and then falls into the holy river, and this is not the first time that this bridge has collapsed. As per sources, this incident took place at around 7.15 PM in the evening on Sunday. And as it was a Sunday, no construction work was going on at the site, and only very few workers were present there.

Earlier too, the quality of this under-construction bridge had come under question, back in the month of April, 2022, when a portion of the same bridge had collapsed.

The bridge is intended to connect the Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts of Bihar, and was being constructed at a cost of 1750 crore Rupees, and was called Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘dream project’.
