Shajapur (MP): Claiming that 18,000 peasants ended their very existence over the past 18 years in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, erstwhile Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleged on Saturday that for the first time in Indian history tillers are being compelled to pay tax under the GST regime.

Addressing a rally in this district headquarters of election-bound Madhya Pradesh, the visiting leader said, “The dispensation does not provide the proper prices for soya. This state’s youth and ryots have begun to detest the BJP as large-scale looting is underway in the education, health and other spheres. The Professional Examination Board inconsistencies comprise a case in point and caused losses to approximately one crore youth. MBBS seats were sold and papers leaked. Madhya Pradesh is the epicentre of Indian corruption. Funds for children’s uniforms are siphoned off and the Mahakal Corridor project was also not spared.”
