BL Santosh urges BJP workers to ensure Meghalaya victory

Shillong: BJP National General Secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh has urged party leaders and workers in Meghalaya to work hard to ensure an emphatic victory in the 2023 assembly elections.

“We must ensure that no government should be formed without the BJP and the party should increase the number of legislators to have its own Chief Minister,” Santosh said on Sunday.

Santhosh was addressing a meeting of workers and supporters of the BJP South Shillong Mandal at Laban Sport Club Indoor Sport Stadium in the presence of BJP minister Sanbor Shullai, veteran BJP legislator, Alexander Laloo Hek and State BJP President Ernest Mawrie.

The polls to the 60-member House are likely to be held in March next year.

“We have some target infront of us. We should get the record number of votes and the victory margin should be the highest and BJP candidates should lead in all polling booths. Now we have only two MLAs and we should have more MLAs in the upcoming Assembly elections,” the top BJP a leader said.

“We are going to the elections in the next five months. We should motivate our workers and work hard to get more legislators and we should get schemes like other states,” he added.

Asserting that the BJP has decided no government can be formed without the BJP in Meghalaya, Santosh said, “We should increase the number of BJP legislators in the upcoming Assembly elections and have a Chief Minister of our own. we should dream and we are aiming high.”

He also talked about the role of women and their power in the country which the BJP and the NDA government is keeping a focus point.

Santhosh also spoke about several developmental and welfare schemes of the Central Government including JJM, PMAY, schemes for doing business that the citizens should benefit from them.

“We are partner in the development agenda of the country.We should go and talk to each and every beneficiary of the schemes,” he said, adding that in 75 years of Independence, Meghalaya should integrate itself with the country and there should be proper connectivity be it air, rail and roads.
