The citizens of the USA are now troubled with inflation after the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the reason why out of every 5 people in the states, 1 is not able to sleep peacefully at night. This fact has been revealed through a recent study conducted by the Ohio University’s medical centre. Researchers have stated that USA’s people are suffering from the highest stress levels in their history.

68% of the people are not being able to sleep due to stress and tension. As per Internal Medicine Professor, Dr. Aneesa Das, a 29% hike has been recorded in cases of sleeplessness from years 2018 to 2021. She added how the heart rate increases due to stress and this leads to blood pressure issues and muscle pulls, and people are unable to sleep, and this is when people have to suffer. USA’s people sleep 5 hours at night on an average, while grapple with sleeplessness for 3 days a week.

As per another report, only 8% of Americans believe that they gain complete rest with sleep. 50% of them use their phones before going to sleep, while 37% fall asleep while watching television. Dr. Das stated that the light emanating out of mobile phones and TVs at night, mislead our body block, and we are unable to sleep at the right time. Sleeplessness can also be a symptom of an illness. She suggests that reducing the usage of mobiles and TVs before sleeping and going out into sunlight during daytime can help us improve sleeping patterns.

Some changes can also be made in the bedroom in order to sleep on time. For instance, the temperature inside the bedroom needs to remain low, and it should be as dark as possible, which would help in staying calm and lead to a better sleep.
