Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in hot waters in his own country, after the setback in the battle with Ukraine, Putin’s order of deploying his 3 lakh reserve soldiers, seems to have backfired. The reserve soldiers are fleeing the country, and the opinions of the Chief Commanders on their deployment is divided as well. The crowds of reserve soldiers ready to leave the country have flocked the airports, bus and railway stations across many cities of Russia.

The ticket rates have multiplied many times, and in order to bring the soldiers back to the military base, buses are being sent to their houses. The situation is such that many reserve soldiers hid inside their refrigerators, and were pulled out by force. Protests are going on in 10 cities of Russia, along with Moscow and St. Petersburg. In many cities, the police lathi-charged the protesting crowds and took to firing in the air. More than 3000 have been arrested till now.

The reserve soldiers are escaping to Finland, Georgia, Turkey, and Montenegro, as Russians do not require a visa to reach these countries. In Finland, 15000 additional security guards have been deployed on the border to prevent the entry of the Russians.

The soldiers who are protesting are raising slogans stating that the battle with Ukraine is wrong and therefore, they won’t fight for it, and are ready to go to slaughterhouses instead. On the other hand, on Tuesday itself, Putin got a bill passed from the parliament, which states that those who refuse from fighting the battle will be liable for getting jailed.

Russian women are of the opinion that they won’t let their fathers and brothers go to Ukraine and kill the fathers and brothers of others.
