Finally, Rajasthan’s royal train, Palace on Wheels (POW), is all set to run on the tracks once again. The train will start operating from 12th October, and its trial run began on Thursday. After the news of POW services getting resumed after 2.5 years, national and international travelers are enthusiastic about the same, which can be seen through the fact that already, 18 out of its 41 cabins have been booked. Till December, the train will be operated by RTDC only. It is noteworthy that now, this train will run under the Bharat Gaurav Scheme.
As per sources, later too, RTDC can continue operating the train as even though it has been tried to give its command to a private player for long, but no private firm showed interest in the same, along with this, RTDC’s co-ordination with the Railways is good too. Prior to the pandemic, with the last trip of this train, RTDC had enjoyed a profit of 1.5 crores. On the other hand, late on Friday evening, Pradeep Bohra was, once again, made the Consultant GM of POW. Bohra coming back to the post will prove to be beneficial for both POW and its staff because he has an experience of 30 years in operating the train, and his co-ordination with railway employees is great as well.
On Saturday, Bohra inspected the train and directed the staff about the train’s operation.
