Jammu Tawi Golf Course boosts lady golfers with putting competition

Jammu: To inculcate competitive spirit among the lady golfers, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Sidhra in association with Directorate of Tourism Jammu organised the ‘Women Putting Competition” here.

Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Manav Gupta on Monday said that a good number of enthusiast women players participated in the competition.

Ankita Sourav Sethi displayed some great skills and lifted the trophy while Sunaina Gupta was the runner-up, he said and revealed that third place was bagged by Anushi Rishi.

Sunaina Sharma, Joint Director Tourism Jammu, who was Chief Guest on the occasion stated, ‘Putting contest is an innovative way to entice women players towards golf and nurture talent in women of Jammu and Kashmir.

Manav, who himself is a golfer, further said, “several steps have been initiated to popularise the game of Golf in Jammu and such events of the same or higher scale will be organized on regular basis.”

National Golf Academy of India (NGAI) certified professional coach Rohit Gupta and several sports lovers were present to grace the occasion.
