Aurangabad, Maharashtra: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, is being celebrated on Sunday with gaiety and fervour in eight districts of Marathwada region.
It was celebrated in a simple manner due to Covid during the last two years.
Leaders of various political parties and elected representatives greeted the Muslim community members on the occasion.
In Aurangabad, a grand procession will be taken out later in the day to mark the Prophet’s birthday, named as Julus-E-Muhammadi from Shahganj chaman, passing through Raja Bazar, Nawabpura, Jinshi, Qaisar colony, Champa chowk, Chelipura, Deodi bazaar, Buddilane, City Chowk, Gandhi statue and culminated at Shahganj where a flag hoisting ceremony will be held.
The organiser Murtuza and Kazi Ariefuddin and Sayed Mazhar Sutari member will participate in the procession and will deliver the message of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony.
Apart from these social programmes, blood donation camps, special prayer in mosques have also been organised.
Similar processions will also be taken out from rest of the regions of the districts.
Police have made adequate security arrangements in the region to avoid any untoward incident.
