People have understood Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Break-India motives: Bommai

Bengaluru: Announcing BJP’s Jan Sankalp Yatra under the leadership of former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said the BJP is not worried about the Karnataka-leg of Bharat Jodo Yatra and hinted that it has lost its importance in the wake of people realising Congress’ Break-India motives.

“We are not at all worried about (Karnataka-leg of) Bharat Jodo Yatra. The world has come to know which kind of people (Break-India elements) are joining the yatra. So, it is has lost its importance,” he told reporters.

There is no comparison between Bharat Jodo Yatra and BJP’s Jan Sankalp Yatra, Bommai said, explaining that the BJP yatra will showcase the achievements of BJP governments in the state and at the centre, and also elaborate upon the upcoming schemes for the people.

The yatra will begin from Raichur city and cover Koppala, Vijayanagara and Ballari districts in the next two days, he said. It will also include rallies and office meetings, he added.

The BJP office-bearers will participate in the event, Bommai said, adding that the yatra will showcase the achievements of BJP governments in the state and at the centre, and also elaborate upon the upcoming schemes for the people.

“We are launching the Jan Sankalp Yatra under Yediyurappa’s leadership. The agenda of this yatra is to list out things what the state BJP government has done.”

“Thousands of people have benefitted from our state and central schemes. BJP office-bearers will participate in the yatra. It is all about winning the 2023 assembly elections,” he said.

Apart from Jan Sankalp Yatra, Karnataka BJP also has planned seven SC/ST/Women/Minority rallies across the state, beginning from October 16 to 8 January 2023, with stop gaps.

The party will hold SC Morcha rally in Mysuru on October 16; OBC Morcha in Kalaburagi on October 30; Raitha (farmer) Morcha in Hubballi on November 13; Yuva (youth) Morcha in Shivamogga on November 27; and ST Morcha in Ballari on November 27; Mahila (women) Morcha in Bengaluru on December 25 and Minority Morcha in Vijayapura on January 8 ahead of the polls.
