Even though following vegan diets has positive effects on human health, nutritionists are of the opinion that if vegan diets are followed rigorously and too strictly, many nutritious elements get reduced in the body, which leads to the threat of diseases. This threat is the most among women and can even lead to infertility. Britain’s nutritionist, Laura Brown found out that among 30% of the women aged below 45 years, who followed only a vegan diet for more than 3 years, the menstrual cycle stopped partially or even completely, which, in the future, became the reason for infertility and bone diseases.

Due to an excess of vegan diets, the body is not able to absorb vitamins D and B12, selenium, zinc, and iron, and vegan food like salads and vegetables, when eaten raw all the time, adversely affect the body. As per Brown, due to excessive raw vegan diets, a lack of lycopene, which reduces the threat of heart ailments, vitamins, and anti-oxidants can follow, and on the other hand, the level of homocysteine, which increases the risk of strokes, can augment.

In a study, in 38% of the people who took regular raw vegan diets, there was recorded a lack of vitamin B12, and the level of homocysteine amino acid was more. With the lack of vitamin B12, problems like jaundice, mouth ulcers, and depression can increase.
