A large-scale cyber attack has been made on the online system of AIIMS-Delhi. The data of almost 4 lakh patients have been stolen from AIIMS-Delhi’s system, and this is the biggest hacking in the county’s medical sector till now. The NIC, along with the CBI, IB, DRDO, and the Delhi police are investing the matter since the last two days. Two system analysts of AIIMS-Delhi have been suspended. As per sources, there is a probability of International Cyber Crime being involved in the matter.

Delhi police has stated that this matter is related to cyber terror, and an FIR has been registered on Thursday. The investigating agencies are scrutinizing all the computers related to the online centralized system of AIIMS. Cyber experts and software engineers are looking for the source and receiver of the data hack. Along with this, solutions to get rid of the probable danger of cyber attack are also being worked upon.

The internet has been shut down in AIIMS, and the e-hospital database and the lab information system (LIS) database have been stored in a hard-drive. 4 additional servers have been put up, and all activities in the OPD and IPD are being done manually.

8 years ago, AIIMS’ data was digitalized completely, and since then, many VIPs like former Prime Ministers, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, etc., have been treated there. The personal data of all these personalities have been stolen from the AIIMS server.
