Nagpur/ Mumbai: Maharashtra state Health Minister Prof. Dr. Tanaji Sawant said no patient of the new Corona virus variant has been found in the state yet, but as a preventive measure, if anything is found at the airport detection the airport authorities have been given instructions to keep them in isolation.

According to official press statement issued on Wednesday night Sawant said in some other countries including China, the corona infection has again increased to a large extent and according to the guidelines of the central government regarding preventive measures, he has given instructions to the health department to once again start corona testing, treatment, vaccination and investigation of corona patients in the state.

Not a single patient of this new variant has been found yet, but four have been found in a neighboring state, so as a preventive measure, thermal testing of persons coming from the airport, state borders, and other essential tests will be carried out, he said.

Prof. Sawant said Corona restrictions will not be imposed anywhere but the next necessary decisions will be taken as per the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

At the same time, he said on this occasion that a complete review of the health system in the state has been conducted and instructions have been given to the system to be on alert mode. He said vaccination has been done on a large scale in the state and the new variant is not that dangerous.

Prof Sawant also interacted with Principal Secretary Sanjay Khandare, Secretary Navin Sona, Director Dr. Nitin Ambadekar, Dr. Sadhana Tayde along with all Deputy Health Directors, District Surgeons, District Health Officers of the state through video system and gave instructions to be alert, the statement added.
