World’s longest river cruise Ganga Vilas begins voyages

On Friday, MV Ganga Vilas River cruise embarked on its maiden voyage, and it was flagged off by PM Narendra Modi. This is the world’s longest river cruise, which will traverse a distance of 3200 KM in 51 days. The cruise has left with 32 passengers, all of whom belong in Switzerland. The cruise will cross 27 different rivers, and 50 tourist spots.

Saudamini Mathur, President, Antara Luxury River Cruises, the cruise company, said that the fare for the whole route is 50-55 lakh Rupees for each individual. The cruise has the facility of 18 luxury suites, spa, salon, ayurvedic massage, swimming pool, etc. For hosting 36 passengers, there is a staff of 40 members.

Connecting many World Heritage sites, national parks, and prominent ghats, the cruise will provide the opportunity to travel from Varanasi, to Patna, Kolkata, Bangladesh’s Dhaka, and Assam’s Guwahati. The Ganga aarti in Varanasi is the major attraction.
