Indian Army team providing relief in quake-hit Syria

New Delhi: A 40-member Indian Army contingent deployed as UN Peacekeepers in Syria is engaged in relief work in quake-hit Aleppo in Syria, India’s Permanent Mission in the UN said.

In a tweet, India’s Permanent Mission in the UN said:

“India extends its support to Turkey & Syria with #OperationDost, providing relief measures & logistics support.

“Our 40-member Indian army contingent deployed as @UN Peacekeepers at

@UNDOF mission in Syria are providing much-needed relief in the aftermath of the earthquake in Aleppo.”

India has also sent over 23 tons of relief material for relief efforts in Syria.

The assistance sent for Syria comprises relief material such as sleeping mats, gensets, solar lamps, tarpaulins, blankets, emergency and critical care medicines, and disaster relief consumables.
