Recently, PM Modi’s jacket, made out of sustainable material became the talking point of the country, and currently, the demand of such eco-friendly clothing is increasing among the common consumers of the country as well. Nevertheless, because of the high-pricing of the same, only a few people are using such clothes. But as per management consulting firm, Bain and Company, people are ready to pay up to 40% more to buy such clothes.

As a matter of fact, the textile industry is one of the most polluting industries of the world, and in the wake of this situation, the sports and fashion wear industries have especially focused on eco-friendly clothing. The production of eco-friendly clothing is the least polluting, which includes the making of clothes using natural fibre and recycled materials. India’s textile industry is also trying to reduce the carbon footprint and pollution.

79% of the consumers are changing their shopping-priorities due to their social responsibilities, while 52% of the consumers believe that they will increase their expenditure on eco-friendly clothing in the next three years. 60% people are of the opinion that they will be more judicious towards non-renewable natural resources, and 60% consumers are ready to pay premium amounts for eco-friendly products.
