The increased number of attacks on Hindu temples in Canada have once again become the talking point in the country. Recently, the Ram Temple situated in Mississauga was desecrated with anti-India and pro-Khalistan slogans. On Friday, this matter was once again picked up in the Canadian parliament with full force by an MP of Indian origin, Chandra Arya. He labelled this incident the act of anti-Hindu groups, and has demanded action to be taken against them.

He added that officials are required to now take the activities of anti-Hindu groups seriously, and to act against them. In recent times, many Hindu temples in the country have been targeted by anti-Hindu and anti-India groups. Arya further said that the country’s government needs to curb the increasing Hindu-phobia in Canada. He mentioned that at first, these groups targeted Hindu-Canadians using social media, and started the trend of Hindu-phobia. And now, they have moved towards directly attacking and targeting Hindu temples. It has also been reported that Hindu-Canadians are also being targeted physically.

Recently, the Mississauga City Council too, passed a bill imposing a restriction on fire-crackers. This move is also being opposed.
