Conrad Sangma stakes claim to form new govt in Meghalaya

Shillong: The National People’s Party (NPP) has elected Conrad Sangma as parliamentary party leader of the NPP, even as Sangma along with newly elected MLAs are meeting Governor Phagu Chauhan to stake claim to form the next government.

“We have elected Conrad Sangma as our parliamentary party leader and we are going to stake claim now to form the next government,” senior party leader Prestone Tynsong announced on Friday.

He also informed that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has also received a letter of support from the BJP.
