Chinese President Xi Jinping’s third consecutive term was ratified by the Chinese parliament on Friday, with all the 2952 members voting in his favour, and not a single vote being against him. Even though the Chinese Communist Party had chosen him as their leader back in October 2022, now, his way of remaining the Chinese President for life has been cleared. After Mao Tse Tung, he is the first leader to become the Chinese president for the third consecutive term.

And now, he is being considered to be even more powerful than his party’s founder, Mao. Experts believe that no leader has ever had as many posts and as much authority as he has. He has complete control over all three of China’s organs of power, which are the party, army, and the state. There is no competitor or potential successor to match him. And in place of Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Li Qiang is all set to become the PM.

Chinese researcher Wu Guoguang has said that the appointment on the Prime Minister’s post is solely Xi’s decision, and he is more powerful than Mao in this matter.

In the meanwhile, the Chinese economy, which is revering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic is weak, and because of the protests against the zero-COVID policy in the country, the rules had to relaxed. This is a reason why China is being questioned all across the globe, and challenges will be rampant for the country and its government in such a situation.

Xi Jinping has also said that he is sledging China, and has blamed the west for China’s economic hardships.
